Origin of the Nickname BLUESTREAKS…….. The nickname was coined by former Archbold coach M.A. Farber, who was the head coach at Archbold between 1930-49. After watching Sandusky play, he liked their nickname “Bluestreaks”, and knowing that the teams would probably never play each other because of the difference in school size, gave the nickname to the Archbold team in 1933. Prior to that, Archbold was known as “the Archbold Team.” Some of the fathers back in the 1910’s wanted to be the ARCHBOLD GERMANS because most of the players at that time had German origins, but the name never caught on.
