Introduction:

    You work for an International Travel Agency and have been assigned to promote a specific country in order to increase tourism there.

 

The Task:

    You will create a powerpoint presentation to promote your chosen country. You will organize the information about your country using the 5 Themes of Geography: Location, Place, Movement, Regions, and Human-Environment Interactions.  You will be paid (your grade) based upon the quality of your presentation.  Be thorough in your research as you are to create as much interest in your country as possible.

    The Process:

  1. 1)Describe the relative and absolute location of your country and capital city.

  2. 2)Describe information about your location (place) using both physical (landforms, weather, climate, vegetation) and human (population, religion, culture, language) characteristics.

  3. 3)Describe movement within your country: goods (imports/exports-where and how), people (population trends or migration), ideas (moved from person to person)

  4. 4)Describe the different regions of your country (industrial, commercial, agricultural, cultural).

  5. 5)Describe how humans and the environment can interact in your country. How have people adapted to the environment, how have they modified the environment or how do people depend on the environment?


Your powerpoint presentation should include:

  1. 1)A title page which includes country, team members, at least 2 graphics.

  2. 2)At least one page for each of the five themes and maximum of 4 per theme.

  3. 3)A bibliography page that recognizes material that you have used including pictures (scanned or otherwise), websites, and graphics.

  4. 4)Text that is in your own words.

  5. 5)A creative approach that is appealing without unnecessary special effects that gives an excellent understanding of your country.
