Master Chief is not alone on his fight against the covenant; Earth has come together and formed the United Nations Space Command (UNSC) commanded by Lord Hood. The marines of the UNSC are equipped with newly-advanced human weapons, from handguns to shotguns. They also drive human-like vehicles like tanks and an amped up hummer called a warthog. The UNSC started the Spartan project, a top-secret program, in need of elite soldiers. After many tries they had success with Spartan 117 “Master Chief”. The UNSC also have Cortana, an artificial intelligence that helps Master Chief and the UNSC army. She is just one of many but is the only one that is a main part in the Halo series. The UNSC has many future weapons and technology in the arsenal and are the only thing between Earth and the covenant.
