The David Crowder Band is originally from Waco, Texas. It all started when they started to hold worship services at Baylor University, a Christian university in Texas. David Crowder decided to start holding worship services because he realized that over half of the students weren’t attending any type of church or worship service; which then led to the beginning of University Baptist Church. He began recruiting students and writing his own songs to bring in more students. David Crowder started releasing songs, which led to the band's first album debut in 2002.
