Wildlife Banner Exploring Wildlife Tourism History

The Great Barrier Reef is a beautiful underwater adventure, heightened by the quantities of different types of animals. The coral itself is one of the main sights, with more than 400 different types composing the entire reef. The area is also chock-full of over 1500 different kinds of fish. These aren’t your run-of-the-mill trout or salmon, either; these are colorful tropical fish. Many sharks also call the Great Barrier Reef home. However, most of these sharks are the harmless reef sharks. Turtles, clams, whales, dolphins, rays, mollusks, sponges, sea snakes, algae, seaweed, and birds flourish on the reefs.
