The Detroit Lions using their first round pick, drafted Barry Sanders in 1989. Sanders was born on July 16, 1968 in Wichita, Kansas. Barry is five foot eight and weighs 200 pounds. Barry was rated the number one Most Elusive Running Back of All Time, and rated the 17th NFL Player of All Time. In 1989 he was the Rookie of the Year and went to the Pro Bowl all ten years of his career and was an All-Pro every year. In 1998 he was voted as the MVP of the NFL. He rushed for 15,269 yards in his career, which is third best all-time for running backs, and an additional 2,921 yards receiving putting his total yards at 18,190.
