Asics most popular shoe lately has been the matflex, deffinately a lower end shoe. The great thing about asics, though is that they make more than just the average beginner quality shoe, they also make a high end so there is a variety of selection ranging from beginner to veteran. The best shoe they currently make is called the aggressor. It’s a remake of the rulon which in the eyes of many was the better of the two, because its wider and is made of a better fabric. Asics has always been known for its phenomenal mat life because they have always made a great sole. The 54 was also a great shoe with the same extremely durable sole as the aggressor and rulon. Asics also used to make a very popular line called the lyteflex it ranged in many bright colors such as yellow, orange, purple, and lightblue. It had a good sole and was hightop simply for high ankle support. The only problem was they pressed on the sides of the shoes and often times it peeled right of the sides. After the lightflex came the ultraflex, and unlike many asics shoes it didn’t have the best sole design but looked great and was a light weight and flexible shoe. After that came the OG cael which was a great shoe, and it was followed by many other cael shoes, but none could compete with the original, after that came the gel assault, which was a decent shoe, followed by an entire line of dan gable sponsored shoes which alsotended to focus more on looks as opposed to mat life, but all in all many consider asics to be the best brand of wrestling shoe.
