Since the violin is a string instrument, like a guitar or banjo, there are many notes to learn with it. The violin has four strings; left to right the order of the strings are G,D,A,E. The main G notes are, from top to bottom, A, B, C, and D. Now the main D notes are E, F# G♭, G, and D. For the A strings the main notes are B, C# D♭, D, and E. Lastly the main notes for the E string are F# G♭, G# A♭, A, and B. There are many more notes but those are the main ones.
