Lambeau Field is one of the most revered football stadiums in the history of football. Originally located in southwest Green Bay, Lambeau was built on farmland purchased for about $74,305. The field itself cost about $960,000. It was opened in 1957, and since then has had small expansions to it, including seven seat expansions, until October 1999. It underwent a marvelous transformation that was revealed in January 2000. The field was able to keep its history but get a new look with more seating capacity. The transformation added 11,600 new seats making the new seating capacity 72,928. To get a season ticket here your name has to be entered on list with more than 78,000 names already on it. Lambeau field is in its 52nd season, which is the longest in the NFL.
