Northwest’s current fleet consists of airliners from major manufactures such as Boeing, Airbus, and Douglas.  They also have regional airplanes from Embraer, Bombardier and Saab.  The DC-9 is currently the oldest plane in Northwest’s fleet, being built in the late 1960’s.  The fleet is currently being modernized with new Embraer 170’s and the CRJ 900 made by Bombardier.  They also have orders for the all-new Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner.  The aircraft flown within North America are the Boeing 757, the Airbus A320/319 series along with the DC-9.  The Boeing 747 and the Airbus A330 fly trans-oceanic flights. The Boeing 757 equipped with blended winglets also flies across the Atlantic Ocean.  The Saab 340 and CRJ 200 support this fleet, which fly for Northwest’s regional airlines.
