The Pittsburgh Steelers are a professional American football team based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. They are currently a member of the North Division of the American Football Conference in the NFL. Founded in 1933, Pittsburgh has won more Super Bowl titles won more AFC Championship games and hosted more conference championship games than any other AFC or NFC team. They also played in more AFC conference championship games that any other team and are tied with the Dallas Cowboys with 14 championship game appearances in either the NFC or AFC contests. The Steelers dynasty of the 1970’s still holds the record for the most Super Bowls wins over a 6-7 or 8 seasons span and tied with the San Francisco 49ers for most in a 9-14 span. While being led by the only head coach Chuck Noll in the NFL history to win more than three Super Bowls. The Steelers are the reigning NFL champions, having won Super Bowl XLIII on February1, 2009, setting yet more records with the longest play, longest interception and becoming the first franchise to have three wide receiver Super Bowl MVPs.
