Shrek is an ogre; he naturally lives in a swamp but lives in Far, Far Away and is married to Fiona in the third movie. He is the main character that has two friends: Puss in Boots and Donkey. He is really nice to Puss in Boots and mean/humorous to donkey. He is expected to be king and expecting to be a father. Puss and Donkey always put Shrek in a better mood and they help Shrek go through things when he's stuck. When Shrek met Arthur, he stood up for him because he knew Arthur could be a good king and defend the kingdom. When Arthur's life was in damanger, Shrek saved his life. At the end, Shrek takes care of his kids and shows that he can be a good parent no matter if he's an ogre or not. Click here for more information!
