Ne-Yo was born in October 18, 1979 in Camden, Arkansas, United States. When he was little he was raised by his mother when his parents separated. They moved to Las Vegas, Nevada for hopefully a better life.
While attending the Las Vegas Academy Ne-Yo picked up the stage name “GoGo” and joined an R&B group called Envy.
	The group eventually dispersed in 2000 but he continued to write songs for other artists.
