This is when the Fallen and the other Primes who just came to Earth thousands of years ago, in 17,000 B.C. The seven Primes traveled the galaxy to create Energon with sun-absorbing machines, called the Sun Harvesters. The Primes followed the law which says to never kill planets with life, but one of them called The Fallen, deceives the others by building an army and setting up a Harvester on Earth in 17,000 B.C. after defeating the ancient humans. The Primes defeat and imprison the Fallen before he can harvest the Earth's sun with the "Matrix of Leadership" then the rest of the Primes sacrifice themselves to hide the Matrix from the Fallen. After two years, the Autobots and the humans made an alliance and hunted down remaining Decepticon around the world and Optimus Prime got a message from the Decepticon that the Fallen will rise again “meaning return”. At Sam’s house, Sam is getting ready to go to college but he just found a shard from the Allspark and it causes a flash to his mind and causes him to see Cybertronian symbols. In the forest, Megatron kills Optimus Prime in the battle and the Fallen since his death. Sam, Mikaela, his friend Leo, Sector 7 Agent Seymour and Wheelie hunt down a Decepticon name Jetfire. So Jetfire teleports everyone to Egypt and tells them about the Fallen History. Now the group must find the Tomb of the Prime and Matrix to use it to revive Optimus but the Matrix turns into dust. During the battle in Egypt, after the missile airstrike the group was heading back but Sam took a different direction and Megatron is to kill him on sight. When Sam has a vision of seven of the Primes telling him about how the Matrix is earned and he has earned the right to bear it so they revive Sam and restore the Matrix which let Sam to use it to revive Optimus. After reviving Optimus, the Fallen teleports to Optimus’ location and steals the Matrix. But Optimus is having a hard time getting up because his body got lots of damage and he lost part of himself. So Jetfire sacrifices himself so that Optimus can get new parts and gain new powers by defeating the Fallen. Then he could end this battle.
