Sergey Bubka is considered by many to be the greatest pole-vaulter of all time. He has had the world record 97 times. That is a substantial amount of times. He has had the world record for the last thirteen times. Bubka currently holds the world record for highest vault, with 6.14 Meters (20 feet, 1 ¾ inches). Bubka has held that record for eighteen years. Holding a world record like that for eighteen years is something to be very proud and humble about. Sergey was nineteen the first time he vaulted in the Olympics. He is six foot, and weighed about one hundred and seventy-six pounds. | |
