Muscle tissue is able to contrast, or shorten.

Examples:

Cardiac Tissue

Cardiac muscle

Contains intercalated discs, which helps the heart contract harmoniously. Striated and involuntary. This is the muscle that composes the heart

Smooth Muscle

Smooth muscle

Is muscle that lacks striations. It moves food through the digestive tract.

Skeletal Muscle
Skeletal muscle Skeletal muscle is striated and voluntary. It is muscle that is attached to bones.
Nervous Tissue

Nervous Tissue

Nervous tissue contains neurological cells and is in charge of coordinating, regulating, and integrating bodily functions. It transmits impulses along cellular processes and carries an electrochemical impulse. This tissue is very difficult to repair.
