In 1909, she opened a shop on the ground floor of an apartment in Paris; which was then the beginning of what would later become one of the greatest fashion empires in the world. The signature Chanel logo is an interlocking double C. Chanel is also recognized as one of the most luxurious names in couture fashion. Known for its quilted fabric, and leather, which also has a “secret” quilting pattern to keep the material strong. Coco Chanel established her reputation as a precise fashion couturier. In 1915, her fashion became known throughout France for its simplicity.
