With some verbs in the future irregular tense the final vowel in the verb gets dropped. Then it is replaced with the letter “d.” Then the correct conjugation that matches the subject is added to the end of the newly conjugated verb. There are five verbs that conjugate in this form.

They are: tener, poner, salir, venir, and valer. Tener means “to have.” Poner means “to put.” Salir means “to leave.” Venir means “to come.” Valer means “to cost.”
The pneumonic for these verbs to remember how to conjugate them is “Teachers Push Students Very Violently.”
