Yato

Yato, a so called “Delivery God,” takes random jobs for five yen to make a name for himself. While defeating Yokai, his only regalia leaves him for being a poor demi-god and has him searching for help. Yato was the God of Calamity, but changed his ways with help of a high school student and new regalia. Without a shrine, Yato will soon disappear from lack of believers. Throughout the anime, Yato is the main character in the story.

Hiyori

Hiyori is an average high school student with dark brown hair and eyes colored with purple. Before she met Yato, Hiyori told her friends everything including her darkest secrets. Now, with being stuck between the Far Shore and Near Shore, Hiyori starts a journey with new friends and a second life.

Yukine

Yukine was lost before he was found by Yato and became a regalia. With a new name, Sekki, Yukine struggles with his emotions and reality that he can’t attend school and live like a normal teenager. Since he is from the Far Shore, the average person overlooks him, until he gains new friends and accepts who he is.

Milord

Milord, is a missing cat and only shows up in the first episode. This is the cat that made Yato run into trouble along with Hiyori. Even though Milord plays a very minor role, he is extremely cute and unforgettable.

Kofuku

Kofuku, a very unique goddess, has bright pink hair and is known as the Goddess of Poverty. In addition to her unique personality, Kofuku brings destruction and sadness to whoever crosses her path. Unlike Bishamon, Kofuku cares for Yato greatly and sometimes they act a little too friendly for the people who worship Yato and Hiyori.

Daikoku

Daikoku is Kofuku’s only regalia, but acts more like a protective big brother. He comes off as aggressive the first time he meets someone, but in the end, Daikoku is actually a softhearted man when it comes to Kofuku. He is also criticized for liking kids.

Bishamon

Bishamon is the Goddess of War and has many different regalias. Compared to Yato, she is a very well-known goddess with many worshipers and shrines. Bishamon is a bold and strong-willed character who despises Yato with a passion.

Kazuma

Kazuma is Bishamon’s navigation regalia. He is loyal and advises the War Goddess with everything she does. He also aides Yato and the crew later in the story.

Rabo

Rabo plays a small part until the end of the series. He doesn't show up in many episodes; therefore, his character is mysterious and secretive. He is known as the bad guy in Noragami, for he hurts both Hiyori and Yato in many different ways.

Nora

Nora plays a somewhat major part in the series as well. She has no real name, for she has no real master. Like Yukine, Nora was once a regalia, but now is a Nora, because she aids gods and goddess who don't have their own regalia. Nora is also known as a bad guy and tries to take Yato for herself.
