UNC has had multiple great basketball stars play for them. Most UNC players have been very successful in the NBA (National Basketball Association). Jerry Stackhouse, former UNC shooting guard and small forward found himself being drafted in the 1995 NBA Draft as the third pick in the first round by the Philadelphia 76ers.Vince Carter (my personal favorite), former UNC shooting guard and small forward had so many talents. He was very popular with his fancy dunks, especially his "Windmill reverse 360" dunk. Drafted fifth in the first round by the Golden State Warriors in the 1998 NBA draft, he has played 17 years in the NBA. All of these players have been very successful especially in the NBA.
Tyler Hansbrough, former UNC forward, has been pretty successful in the NBA being drafted 13th in the first round of the 2009 NBA Draft to the Indiana Pacers.

Michael Jordan is another fantastic player who left UNC a year sooner than graduation to join the 1984 NBA draft and played very well in the NBA. Jordan was drafted third in the first round by the Chicago Bulls in the 1984 NBA draft. He played 15 years in the NBA. |
