Brent Hinds (lead guitar, vocals, and banjo)

Hinds was born in 1974, in Pelham, Alabama. Hinds started to play guitar and banjo at age 13. The equipment that Hinds uses is Gibson Flying V's, typically in silverburst finishes, but also owns a wide variety of guitars including a Goldtop Les Paul, a Les Paul Florentine, a Lucite Flying V built by the Electrical Guitar Company, a Gibson SG, Gibson Explorers and a Michael Kelly Phoenix Hollowbody.

Bill Kelliher (guitars)

Kelliher was born March 23, 1971 in Atlanta, Georgia. Bill Kelliher is the guitarist in Mastodon. He shares guitar parts with Brent Hinds but also plays very complex rhythm parts. Kelliher is married, with two young sons. The guitars that he uses are a Gibson Les Paul Custom in a Silverburst finish, but also owns another Les Paul Custom in ebony and alpine white finish; a Gibson Explorer 2 CMT in an Antique Sunburst finish; Gibson Explorer in white; a third Explorer in black with gold hardware; a custom Yamaha SGB; and a First Act custom 9-string Silverburst DC Lola, which was built for usage on Crack the Skye.

Brann Dailor (drums, vocals, and percussion)

Dailor was born March 19, 1975 in Rochester, NY. Dailor is married to Susanne Gibboney, who is the guitarist and singer of Lust, drummer of Catfight, and bassist of Tiger!Tiger!. Dailor was born into a musical family. His grandparents were members of a 1950's bluegrass band based in Tennessee; his mother and stepfather played in a Rush cover band. "My parents were hippies, but they were Frank Zappa hippies, you know? . . . . I grew up listening to The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway, Close to the Edge by Yes, King Crimson's Red. All that stuff was jamming at my house at full volume all the time when I was a baby, along with Coltrane's Love Supreme, Stevie Wonder -- Innervisions -- stuff like that. Constantly." Troy Sanders (bass, vocals, and bass synth)

Sanders was born September 8, 1973 in Jacksonville, Florida First started to play bass when he was a kid. Sanders’ older brother played bass so he was taught how to play. His biggest influences as a bassist are Cliff Burton, Gene Simmons, and Phil Lynott. Sanders is a finger style bassist but also uses a pick on some songs. The equipment that Sanders uses are a Fender Prophecy II, Fender American Standard Jazz, Fender American Deluxe Precision, Ibanez SRX700, Godlyke Deity 4-string bass, Yamaha BB414 Bass, Yamaha BB2004 bass and Michael Kelly acoustic basses. He has one daughter with his ex-wife named Haley, who is following in her family's musical footsteps by playing guitar; and a newborn son named Yuri with his current wife Jezabel.
