Rookie of the year has been given out since 1964. 2005 was the first year it was not given to anybody. In 2008 Rhino Page won it. Rhino set the rookie record in earning with $84,811. He had finished the year with a 223 average. In 2009 Jason Belmonte won it. He has a different style of throwing the ball than everyone else. He throws it using two hands instead of one.
