World War I had many lasting effects. For example, new countries were created. The new countries included Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Czechoslovakia, and Yugoslavia. Also, World War I indirectly led to World War II and Nazism. The Treaty of Versailles left Germany angry because it blamed the war on Germany. The treaty also punished Germany greatly and had to pay a great deal of money. Germany felt resentment and embarrassment after The Treaty of Versailles.
