Elephants are very important to Asian culture. They hold mythical value to the region. Elephants are also social animals, they like to form groups made up of females. To communicate to other elephants, even from a long distance, they let out a low-pitched sound that is barely heard by humans. As you can see, elephants use their bodies for all different kinds of resources. Elephants can be viewed as loud, awkward, and just plain big, but they're kind of the opposite. They actually are very quiet when they walk, are very strong and stable, and yes, big. And, surprisingly, elephants can live to be about 50 years old.
