To access the video resources of FOSS Diversity of Life multimedia, your web browser needs the QuickTime plug-in, version 6 or later. It's free, provided on the CD-ROM and on-line, and supported by Apple.

The most recent version of the QuickTime can be installed over the Internet (about 10 minutes over a dial-up or similar-speed connection).
We do not support the QuickTime plug-in. If you have questions about the installation process or other features, contact Apple at http://www.apple.com/quicktime.
If you have a connection to the Internet, click the button below to download the latest version of the plug-in. Install the plug-in in the browser you wish to use.
Once the installation is complete, return to the FOSS Diversity of Life homepage and click Check Browser to make sure your browser has all required plug-ins.
If you do not have a connection to the Internet, use the installer on the FOSS Diversity of Life CD-ROM.
Macintosh - OS 9.x. Double-click the FOSS_DOL icon on your desktop. When the main window opens, double-click the Installers folder. Open the QuickTime 6 for Macs folder. Open the Mac OS 9.x folder. Double-click the file inside, and follow the instructions. Install the plug-in in the browser that you wish to use.
Macintosh - OS X. Double-click the FOSS_DOL icon on your desktop. When the main window opens, double-click the Installers folder. Open the QuickTime 6 for Macs folder. Open the Mac OSX folder. Double-click the file inside, and follow the instructions. Install the plug-in in the browser that you wish to use.
PC - Windows 98, ME, 2000, and XP. Double-click My Computer. Right-click the CD-ROM drive where you see FOSS_DOL. Choose Explore from the menu. Open the Installers folder. Open the QuickTime 6 for PCs folder. Double-click the file inside to start the installation.
Once installation is complete, return to the FOSS Diversity of Life homepage and click Check Browser to make sure your browser has all required plug-ins.
