To access all the features of the FOSS Diversity of Life multimedia, your web browser needs the Flash plug-in, version 7 or later. It's free, provided on the CD-ROM and on-line, and supported by Macromedia.
All activities require the Flash 7 plug-in.

You can download the most recent version of the Flash plug-in over the Internet (about 10 minutes over a dial-up or similar-speed connection).
We do not support the Flash plug-in. If you have questions about the installation process or other features, contact Macromedia at http://www.macromedia.com/support/players.
If you have a connection to the Internet, click the button below to download the latest version of the plug-in. Install the plug-in in the browser you wish to use.
Once the installation is complete, return to the FOSS Diversity of Life homepage and click Check Browser to make sure your browser has all required plug-ins.
If you do not have a connection to the Internet, use the installer on the FOSS Diversity of Life CD-ROM.
Macintosh - OS 9.x. Double-click the FOSS_FM icon on your desktop. When the main window opens, double-click the Installers folder. Open the Flash 7 for Macs folder. Open the Mac 9.x folder. Double-click the Install Flash Player icon, and follow the instructions. Install the plug-in in the browser that you wish to use.
Macintosh - OS X. Double-click the FOSS_FM icon on your desktop. When the main window opens, double-click the Installers folder. Open the Flash 7 for Macs folder. Open the Mac OSX folder. Double-click Flash Player icon, and follow the instructions. Install the plug-in in the browser that you wish to use.
PC - Windows 98, ME, 2000, and XP. Double-click My Computer. Right-click the CD-ROM drive where you see FOSS_FM. Choose Explore from the menu. Open the Installers folder. Open the Flash 7 for PCs folder. Open either the Netscape or Internet Explorer folder, depending on which browser you want to install the software. Double-click the file inside, and follow the instructions.
Once installation is complete, return to the FOSS Diversity of Life homepage and click Check Browser to make sure your browser has all required plug-ins.
