The “Minister of Defense” left the NFL as the game’s all-time sack leader. Reggie White was one of the most influential players to watch in the league. Being two sacks away from Bruce Smith, Reggie had 198 career sacks out of his 15-year season being a defensive lineman. The 13-year Pro Bowler was drafted fourth overall by Philadelphia from Tennessee. He had also been with Green Bay and Carolina. Reggie was a two-time Defensive Player of the Year dominated against the offensive line and whoever got in his way. This outstanding defensive player died of respiratory failure at the age of 43 on December 26, 2004. He was selected into the Hall of Fame in 2006.
