The Anglerfish are called Anglerfish because of the way they catch their food. Anglerfish use a spine of their dorsal fin that is a fleshy, bait like fishing lure, which usually has a biolumanesant tip on it. There are over 200 species of Anglerfish. The Anglerfish has a massive crescent shaped head and has many sharp pointed teeth. Males are small and will die if they don’t find a female because they cannot hunt or eat. Were male finds a female he will bite on to her and begin to degenerate. His veins and skin will be part of her and he will get his nutrients from her. Anglerfish are very good examples of how living organisms can survive in harsh environments. | ||
