All of the villains on Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! are “ghosts” that are terrorizing people. The gang somehow gets involved and tries to solve the mysteries. In the end, all of the “ghosts” turn out to be greedy people who are trying to keep others away from some profitable scheme. After the gang turns the villain in, the signature phrase is “…and I would have gotten away with it, too, if it weren’t for you meddling kids and your dog.” The most memorable villains are the Ghost Clown, the Ghost of Elias Kingston, the Black Knight, the Wax Phantom, and the Witch. The Black Knight was the very first villain on the show.
