There are various kinds of races in track but the most adrenaline comes from the relays. There are different types of relays, but most of them are sprint relays. These relays contain four people, each who run a different leg of the race. In a 4x100 each leg has to run 100 meters and exchange a baton with their teammate inside an exchange zone that is marked on a track. At state you can find four different relays, the 4x100, the 4x200, 4x800, and the 4x400. Before the tournament trail you can find other relays that can be run at certain track meets. These relays contain medleys and long-distance relays such as sprint medleys, distance medleys and the 4xmile relay. A medleys is a combination of races for example, the sprint medley contains two legs that run 100 meters, one that runs 200 meters and one that runs 400 meters.
