State track is one of the greatest accomplishments you can get in track. All divisions run at the state meet but there are three individual meets. In Ohio, state track takes places at Jesse Owens memorial stadium and the whole stadium is filled with spectators all day long. Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium is in Columbus, Ohio. The State of Ohio pays for the trip to State depending on the distance and how many athletes from a team made it to state. The requirements to get to state are the same for all divisions. An athlete or relay has to compete and qualify for regionals, then at regionals they have to qualify to go to state. This may sound easy but the recovery time between races decreases at regionals and athletes have to be at their peak in order to perform.
