Federer has had an emotional roller coaster in Melbourne, joyous in victories and great suffering in defeat. After the 2009 Australian Open Federer broke down during the trophy ceremony. The man who seemed to be unbreakable, both with his serve and his emotions, had finally broke. Tears rolled down his face after the four-hour match. He was forced to suffer through the ceremony until everything overwhelmed him. Federer quickly recovered to have a historic year, breaking Pete Sampras’ title of 14 grand slams. This year he continued his amazing career by adding another slam title in Melboure. Whatever the future holds for Roger, no one will forget the amazing matches he has played at the Australian Open.
