Just like the cheetah, the leopard has spots on its coat to use as camouflage. If a leopard is kept in a zoo its life span is about 23 years, but in the wild it is as low as 12 to 15 years. The male leopard can weigh from 45 to 60 pounds and the female can weigh 25 to 30 pounds. At about two years of age the leopard is fully matured. The length of a leopard from head to tail is about six feet.
