Holstein cattle are usually black and white, but sometimes they are red. The gestation period of Holsteins is about nine months. They can be bred when they are 13 months of age. It is more preferable to have the Holstein bred between 23-26 months of age instead. The average productive life of a Holstein is approximately four years.
