Despite only playing a very few college games, Kyrie was selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers as the number one pick in the 2011 NBA Draft. Through his first 23 games, he had ten games with 20+ points. As a rookie he was selected to the Rising Stars Challenge where he scored 34 points and was named the game’s MVP. He was also a participant in the Skills Challenge during the All Star Weekend. He has been named NBA Rookie of the Month twice. He signed his agent in May 2011 and his first contract on December 10, 2011. The Cavs also drafted Tristan Thompson in the first round, and he too signed a contract the same day Kyrie did.
