Barry was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado on August 7, 1976. He plays the drums for Shinedown, and has been a member since 2001. Kerch first started playing the drums at age 7. Two years later his parents got him a drum set. Barry was in the marching band in elementary school all through college, at the University of Central Florida. He also earned a degree in anthropology there.
