Brent was born in Knoxville, Tennessee on January 10, 1978. He has been in the band since it started in 2001. Brent is the singer and songwriter of Shinedown. In his early life he was part of a band called “Blind Thought” and was also the lead singer in a band called “Dreve”. Brent was offered a developmental contract with Atlantic Records, then went to go find other musicians to form the band Shinedown.
