The Yankees are proud to have a fantastic team every year and are consistently contending for the World Series championship. The “Core Four” of Andy Pettitte, Derek Jeter, Jorge Posada and Mariano Rivera have lead the team every year since 1996. Some of the stars today are Alex Rodriguez, Mark Teixeira and CC Sabathia that have been acquired by trades or free agency. This year, the Yankees have tried to acquire some help and got Rafael Soriano and Russell Martin in free agency. Joe Girardi is the manager and he is a fantastic leader. Last year, the Yankees acquired Nick Swisher and Curtis Granderson to help out their defense and hitting.
